Encourage Salon & Spa was in need of a brand new logomark, as the business had previously not had any established branding. The goal for the final logo was to incorporate the salon's prominent nature theme with a classic feel and touches of modern elements to appeal to both males and females, as well as families. Below is an early-stage exploration of possible logo directions for Encourage Salon & Spa.
The concept of the mark stems from the parallels between the nurturing of hair, as well as the record it keeps of our genetic makeup and how the trunks of trees tell a similar story about their own origins. Additionally, trees represent growth and change just as we experience with the evolution of our personal hairstyles.
The selection of the classic serif typeface, Garamond, was made to provide a classical look & feel to contrast with the modern, flat illustrated graphic style. The chosen color palette incorporates warm earth tones, with the green being the primary color to convey life and growth.
